Refund Policy

Last updated 6 October 2026

This policy explains when a payment can be refunded, how much comes back, and how to ask. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

Summary

Your first subscription payment is refundable for 14 days, for any reason. We refund what you paid, less $1 for every 1,000 credits of that payment’s allowance you spent — at most $1 on a monthly plan and $12 on a yearly one. Credits you bought separately are never counted against it.

Renewals are not automatically refundable, because a renewal continues a subscription you already have. But if you forgot to cancel and have not used the period, tell us within 14 days and we will refund it.

Credit packs are refundable within 14 days to the extent the credits are unspent. Cancelling a subscription stops the next renewal and leaves your access in place until the period ends.

If the service failed, or you were charged for something you did not get, we put it right whenever you tell us — no time limit and no deduction.

This summary is provided for convenience only. It does not form part of the agreement, and the numbered terms below govern.

1.Scope

1.1This policy applies to Subscriptions and to Credits purchased through our Merchant of Record. Terms defined in our Terms of Service have the same meaning here.

1.2There is a free plan, and it is not a trial with a clock on it. It keeps a library online, searchable and readable for as long as you want. You do not have to pay to find out whether Enlumine suits you.

2.Your first subscription payment: 14 days

2.1You may request a refund of the first payment you make for a Subscription within 14 days of that payment. You do not have to give a reason.

2.2We refund the amount you paid, less $1 for every 1,000 Credits of that payment’s own allowance your Account has spent. Credits are consumed by work actually performed for you — a request to an AI model, or a month of storage above the amount your Plan includes — and that work has a real cost we have already incurred.

2.3The deduction reaches no further than the allowance that payment granted. A monthly payment includes 1,000 Credits and a yearly payment includes 12,000, so the most that can be deducted is $1 and $12 respectively.

2.4Credits you bought separately are never counted. If you have also purchased a Credit pack, spending it does not reduce this refund. You have paid for those Credits once already, and they stay on your Account.

2.5If you have spent none of the allowance, the refund is the full amount.

2.6A refunded Subscription ends immediately, and the Account returns to the free Plan. Section 9 of the Terms of Service then applies if the Account holds more than the free allowance.

3.Renewals

3.1A Subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. Section 2 covers the payment that starts a Subscription; a renewal continues one you already have, and is not automatically refundable.

3.2We will nonetheless refund a renewal you did not want, if you ask within 14 days of it and you have not used the period. Having forgotten to cancel is reason enough, and you do not need to give another.

3.3“Not used” means your Account has spent no more than a quarter of the Credits that renewal granted — 250 on a monthly renewal, 3,000 on a yearly one. We may be more generous than this line, and often will be. We will not be less.

3.4Where we refund a renewal, the amount and the deduction are worked out exactly as in Section 2, and the Subscription ends immediately.

3.5If you have used the period, cancel instead — see Section 4. You keep the access you have already paid for until that period ends.

4.Cancelling instead of refunding

4.1You may cancel a Subscription at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal rather than cutting you off on the day. You keep full access until the end of the period you have paid for.

4.2Cancelling on its own does not return any money. If you want the payment back as well, ask for a refund under Section 2 or Section 3 within the 14 days.

5.Credits

5.1Credits bought as a pack are refundable within 14 days of the purchase, to the extent they are unspent. We refund the unspent portion at the price you paid for it.

5.2Your Account holds a single Credit balance, and Credits from different sources are not kept apart within it. For the purposes of this Section, Credits are treated as spent in the order they were granted, oldest first. A pack bought after a Subscription allowance was granted is therefore unspent until that allowance has been used up.

5.3Spent Credits are not refundable. Spending a Credit runs real work against a model provider, or pays for a month of storage already used, and that cost is incurred at the moment it happens.

5.4Credits you have not spent remain on your Account for as long as the Account exists, whether or not you ask for a refund. They do not expire and they carry across renewals.

5.5Storage charged monthly from your Credits is consumption of Credits you already hold, not a purchase, and is not separately refundable.

6.If something is broken

6.1The sections above are about changing your mind. They are not about us failing.

6.2If the service did not work, or you were charged for something you did not get, tell us and we will put it right — with no time limit, no deduction, and regardless of anything above. A duplicate charge, a Subscription that kept billing after it was cancelled, or Credits that were paid for and never appeared are our mistakes to fix, not refusals to hide behind a policy.

7.Your statutory rights

7.1Nothing in this policy removes a right your local law gives you. Where a law entitles you to something, that law applies over this policy and you do not have to argue the point with us.

7.2Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom normally have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance purchase within 14 days. The 14-day periods offered in Sections 2, 3 and 5 are intended to sit alongside that right, not to replace it. Where the two differ, whichever is more favourable to you applies.

7.3Payment is taken by our Merchant of Record, who is the seller for the transaction. Their own buyer terms also apply to the payment, and nothing here limits any right you have against them.

8.How to ask

8.1Email support@enlumine.app from the address on your Account, saying what you paid for and why you want it back. You do not have to give a reason for a request under Section 2, 3 or 5.

8.2We aim to answer within a few working days, and we will tell you the amount and the deduction, if any, before it is processed.

8.3Refunds are issued by our Merchant of Record and return by the route the payment arrived on. Once issued, the money usually takes a few working days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.
